The Best Way To Save Money on Your Cleaning Routine
It’s amazing how much money and time we invest in having a clean and organized home. There are so many products out on the market and you can easily spend so much money on them because they sound so convincing. At one point, I cleaned out my area where I kept my cleaning supplies and found I had some in there I only used once or twice a year ago and quickly forgot about them. Here are some tips for saving money on your cleaning routine.
The Best Way To Save Money on Your Cleaning Routine
Simplify it. If you have a product f9or every type of cleaning out there, or you are like me and have several products for one cleaning job, it is time to simplify it. There really is no need to have 4 bottles of all-purpose cleaner under your sink.
Make some of your own cleaning supplies. Just do a quick search on Pinterest and you will find tons of do-it-yourself household cleaners using easy to find ingredients. Many of these cleaners are extremely cheap, some costing as little as a quarter, and you may find they work better than any you could buy in the store. Plus, they take just 5 minutes of your time in most cases.
Use coupons. There seems to be a never-ending supply of coupons out there for cleaning supplies and when you match them with sales, you can practically get them for free. Make sure you stock up when these great sales happen. Recently, I got buy 1 get 2 free gallons of laundry detergent and with a coupon, I paid less than $2 each for them.
Go back to basics. Plain white distilled vinegar, baking soda and good old fashioned lemon juice are very low cost and can do a variety of cleaning jobs very effectively. These cleaners are natural and you can feel good about not leaving chemicals behind when you clean as well.
Dilute what you use. This won’t work with all cleaning products as they work most effectively at full strength, but some products like dish soap can be diluted and still work effectively. Additionally, you can try using less of your products to begin with to make them stretch further ultimately saving you money because you need to buy less.
Stay up on your cleaning. The less you have to deep clean, the less you will need to spend your precious time and money cleaning.
