What to Buy in May
You know the saying, “April showers bring May Flowers?”
It is also true for sales! There is so much to be excited about in May for saving from anywhere from the grocery store to buying a new bed. Let’s look at some ways you can save money in May!
Memorial day savings will come at the end of the month, so be sure to get great deals on electronics, home appliances, furniture and mattresses. These will be at one of the best prices of the year for most of these items.
Try to get a great deal on a gym membership if you have been wanting one. Since most people use the gym a lot when the weather is cold and then let their memberships die off in the warmer months, gyms are often more willing to work with you on a price.
Get yourself a new vacuum cleaner in May. This is because the beginning of the fiscal year for most manufacturers is in June. This means great discounts on “older” models (by older, I just mean last years) so they can make room for the new ones and raise the prices again.
Cookware and utensils are are great discounts in May. Not only is it Mother’s day month, but it is also a time when people are graduating from high school and college and these items are often bought as gifts. If you are hankering for a shiny new pan, get them at the best price of the season now.
Groceries to buy in May:
All condiments are on sale so stock up on ketchup, mustard, mayo, BBQ sauce, and even ranch this month.
Meats such as ribs, kielbasa and hot dogs will be heavily discounted this month to kick off the summer BBQ events that often happen on Memorial day. You can get good deals usually starting the second week in May so start stocking up and freezing for the summer.
Since this month is Cinco De Mayo, make sure and scoop up deals on beans, rice, tortillas and salsa the first week in May.
Produce you should be buying include artichoke, avocado, beets, peas and all berries. This is a perfect time to get some berries for that jam you want to enjoy all year long or to freeze for your summer smoothies. It is at the lowest price of the season!
