Easy Recipe for Walking Tacos
Running late? Don’t have time to put a full 5 course meal on the table?
Oh… who am I kidding? I don’t cook 5 course dinners all the time. Wait, scratch that. Never. I love easy meals. Easy meals that are still delicious. We love having Tacos and Nachos at our house. And we have kids- boys. And did I mention that I love stuff that is easy?

This is ingenious. I love the idea for my grandkids. Thank you so much for sharing at Share It One More Time. Cathy
Great Idea. When I was growing up we only had taco salad with cool ranch doritos. This is a fun on the go way to enjoy that taco salad 🙂
I haven’t had this in YEARS. Thanks for the reminder – maybe I’ll make myself some walking tacos this weekend.
I know, right?! Totally delicious and easy! Enjoy!
I love this idea- my grands will get such a kick out of it! Thanks for sharing it with us at Treasure Box Tuesday- pinned! 🙂

Like others, I noticed there were questions about the meals being $5 total… perhaps pricing and coupons are a lot better where you live, but I find for example, this recipe to cost $5. This is the breakdown I came up with and TX is pretty reasonable price-wise…
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lb Ground Beef—– 1 lbs ground at Target can go on sale for 2.29
2 tbsp Taco Seasoning– easy to get it free
7 Lunch size bags Nacho Doritos, Cool Ranch Doritos and/or Fritos– these are 3/$1 unless an economy size package from Sam’s Club is bought and those run about $10 total
Shredded Lettuce–$1
Shredded Cheese–$1.75
Diced Tomatoes–.49 for 1big one
Jalapeno Slices–.50 for a cheap can
Taco Sauce–.79 for cheap sauce
Sour Cream, etc.–.79 for store brand….
Can you share your pricing and stores/coupons you used? Definitely not trying to be resistant, but this cannot possibly work out to $5… unless it is one serving and you divided up the pricing in that sense…
I know that every one is going to have different prices.
This is also based on pulling the items from your pantry when purchasing them on sale for free/cheap deals.
I’m in Michigan and I based this on-
Lettuce, Tomatoes, Jalapeno for free (From my garden),
Taco Sauce is free at the most .50 cents
Sour Cream- free-.50 cents
Cheese- my stock up price is between Free- $1 (these are prices that we have paid here in Michigan and I have personally paid those prices).
taco seasoning- free
Ground Beef- $2-$2.50
Doritos – $2 for the bag.
These are the prices I pay and when I put together price per serving it is based off those prices.
Hope that helps!!
Thanks for the recipes. I’m just started budgeting my grocery bill. This will help out a lot. Thanks again!!
You’re welcome!
