Extra Ways To Save Money This Fall
With every season come new ways to save money! Fall or Autumn is no exception. In fact, fall is one of my favorite seasons to save money! Here are some extra ways to save money this fall that you can use!
Extra Ways To Save Money This Fall
Make sure your home is weatherized for cooler weather. This is one of the biggest ways people waste money. It can cost less than $15 to weatherize your home and it will save you far more than that all winter and fall! You may even qualify for free weatherization kits at your local office of public assistance or human resources center. Ask your power company if they offer them free as well.
Host a clothing swap for kid’s clothes for back to school or even changing season clothes for yourself. Gather some friends, provide some cheap refreshments and start making trades! You will save money by not having to purchase these goods and as an added bonus, you will clean out that closet!
Go to a Pick-Your-Own farm and stock up on produce that is just perfect for harvesting now. You can make snacks with freeze dried fruits, cut up freezer friendly vegetables and fruits for soups, smoothies and meals as well as can some of the extra bounty for use during the colder months.
Now is the time to save on travel. Many airlines and travel companies offer last chance deals to take a fall vacation to destinations that have nice weather year-round. If you didn’t get a chance to vacation this summer, now is the time to take advantage of these special deals that happen. Don’t wait too long as most of them are only available for a short period of time as we head into the holiday travel season.
Plan to do free stuff for most of the season. Fall is the perfect time to plan family friendly activities because most communities have a lot going on in the fall such as harvest festivals, church events, back to school events and more! The weather is still plenty nice in most areas to get out and do some outdoor activities like hiking as well.

Don’t forget end of season clearance sales! You can get that grill you always wanted for next summer (or even to use now for the next month or so!) for 50% off or more as retailers try to clear them out. Get great deals on summer clothes, swimming suits, summer drinks and snacks and even beach towels as well! Labor Day weekend is usually an awesome weekend to find great deals and tons of mark down prices on clothes!! Stacking those clearance prices with coupons, you should make out like a bandit!

I would love to do a clothing swap too. I had never thought to do a pick your own experience, I always thought the prices were cheaper at the store… Thanks for the tips.
My wife is great at recycling our kids outgrown clothes and toys at Mom to Mom sales which I guess saves money because it is putting some back into our pocket from what we had already spent
