How to Save Money on Fireworks
In just a few days, fireworks will be lighting up the sky in a wide assortment of colors and with tons of sparkle. Fireworks are no doubt lovely and a great way to celebrate the 4h of July holiday, but do you ever feel like you are just watching your hard earned money go up in a cloud of smoke? Fireworks are quite pricey, and if you are not careful you can easily blow your budget during the excitement. This year, celebrate a little more responsibly. Take a look below at 7 tips on how to save money on fireworks. Believe it or not, you can be a savvy shopper and shop a little smarter this 4h of July. Take a look at these simple tips and still enjoy a great show, just for a whole lot less.
1. Don’t buy the huge assorted packages.
Sure they look convenient and attractive, but the assorted fireworks packages are not a good value. You are paying a great deal for that convenient packaging and getting less bang for your buck. Instead, buy your fireworks by the piece and save.
2. Be on the hunt for coupons.
Around the holiday, firework distributors tend to print money saving coupons and send them out into circulation. Check the usual spots such as your Sunday paper. If you can’t find any, I never hurts to ask at the fireworks tent if they are offering any.
3. Go in on an assortment with family or friends.
If you are going to be gathering with a group for the 4th, have everyone attending chip in $10 or so. If ten families do this, you can easily come up with a nice chunk of change to spend on your show. Plus, no one will feel extremely put out. It is a great way to enjoy a show for less.
4. Stick to a simple display.
There are so many simple fireworks that still put on a colorful show. Sparklers, simple fountains, and other non-air fireworks will always cost you less than fireworks that shoot up. Stock up on these simpler fireworks and still get all of the sparkle and color, but for much less.
5. Be a late bird, not an early bird.
Many firework tents slash their prices the day of the 4th, especially towards the later afternoon. If you can be a late bird, do it. You could very well save as much as half off or possibly get some free fireworks tossed in that they are trying to get rid of. Just be warned, your selection may be a tad more limited.
6. Ask for a bulk discount.
Many fireworks tents are independently owned, so don’t be afraid to ask for a discount if you buy in bulk. If you are buying a large amount, o even if you aren’t, you may want to ask if you are eligible for any discounts if you spend so much. Also ask if there is a discount for paying cash. You won’t know unless you ask.
7. Find a free fireworks display.
See what free fireworks shows are available in your area. Many parks offer free fireworks shows and do all of the work for you. You just need to bring a blanket! Ask around and see what may be offered in your area.
See how easy it is to score some great deals on fireworks? Give some of these tips a try and chances are you too will be able to score some for less. This year, celebrate the 4th with a colorful fireworks display AND some cash left in your pocket. Now that is the American way!
