Meijer: Clarification on the $10/$50 Coupon for this weekend
There seems to be some confusion about the $10 off $50 coupon that we have coming out this weekend.
Just to RECAP:
We have this $10 off $50 coupon that is valid Friday 3/20- 3/21 ONLY.
What exactly does that coupon cover?
READ the fine print listed in the coupon:
The only thing this offer excludes is listed RIGHT in the coupon- READ above. If it’s not listed in the exclusion, that means it will work. So clothes, shoes, home, electronics, books, baby stuff, diapers, food, garden supplies, etc.
So then people wanted clarification of what Meijer stated on the coupon- Limit one coupon per transaction. Okay that’s pretty clear. You can only use one of these per transaction.
So if you are planning a big trip, you will want to break it up and plan your trip(s) over the whole weekend.
Then it says, cannot be combined with any other offer. Um, this always says this on all of Meijer offers.
However, people went to Meijer’s Facebook page to ask about it. Then Meijer said this:
So, according to Meijer’s Facebook page, they are saying that you cannot combine this $10/$50 coupon with “paper”/manufacturer coupons. BUT you can stack it with other mPerk offers and coupons and rewards. So, basically if you have a 20% off mPerk for shoes and a $10 off reward coupon, you can use all of them. AS long as you met the $50 threshold FIRST. That $10/$50 coupon will come off FIRST, then all other coupons will come off.
Then this question was asked on the Meijer Facebook Fan page-
The 40% off in the Cosmo Magazine or some of the other Magazines going around would be considered a paper coupon, and Meijer doesn’t give 100% clarity on that.
Then, there’s this. Several mPerk offers ARE also manufacturer coupons. And Meijer is saying that, yes other mPerk offers will work, but no manufacturer coupons (so, that sounds like contradiction to me).
So, because many of you are already asking what you can and cannot do, I went to seek further clarification.
If you have ANY mPerk offers like $10 off for meeting your total purchase reward, or another personalized reward or a baby reward- you can use them ALL in the same transaction as the $10 off $50 coupon. AGAIN, the threshold of $50 BEFORE tax must be met. That’s the BIG requirement. As long as you are not trying to use this $10/$50 coupon on items that are in the excluded section, then you are fine.
So meet the $50 threshold BEFORE tax. That coupon comes off first, then all of the other ones come off.
IF you did NOT clip the $10 off $50 coupon and you are using the paper one from the TWO Day AD found in the front of the store (you cannot print this), then you will want to SCAN that coupon FIRST BEFORE entering in your mPerk #.
If you clipped this mPerk offer, then once you are done with scanning your coupons, enter your mPerk #.
The $10 off $50 coupon comes off first, as long as you have $50 or more spent BEFORE taxes. Then any other coupons that you have to use to apply to your order will come off. If you have personalized rewards clipped to your wallet, the screen will pop up as usual asking you if you want to use these. Say yes or no.
Then I called someone in the mPerks office. They are repeating the same language as what is stated on the Meijer Facebook Fan page. That No, you cannot stack manufacturer coupons.
I also called my local Meijer store and they said the same thing.
I have put in an email to the Corporate office to get further clarification. Once I have that I will update the post and repost it back on Social media.
Then another person stated she called the Corporate office and they said that you CAN use manufacturer coupons with this $10 off $50 offer. So clearly we have some confusion going on and I am looking to clarify this before you shop. So be sure you’re in the Meijer Group and following along on the fan page to get updated information about this!
****UPDATED INFORMATION***
I received an email back from my Corporate contact:
Tatanisha, my apologies for the confusion.
“As far as the Facebook response … we are in the process of clarifying it a bit because the $10/$50 coupon can be combined with manufacturer coupons. It cannot be combined with the print version of the $10/$50 coupon or competitor coupons.”
So, what does this mean?
This means you CAN stack this $10/$50 coupon with manufacturer coupons.
So the print version- what does that mean? That means the one that is in the ad.
So to make this EASY- clip the $10/$50 mPerk. When you reach your $50 threshold before taxes, then punch in your mperks number and this coupon – the $10/$5o coupon comes off FIRST. Then any other mperk rewards or coupons that you have that will apply, will come off. Then you can use any other manufacturer (paper coupons) you have with this order.
The only thing I am seeing that you cannot due based on all of this mixed messages and word from corporate is stacking competitor coupons (which they also consider store coupons) with this offer. No biggie. We will rock it out.
Check back later on this afternoon for deal scenarios (more like this evening since I am on vacation!)
So we’re doing talking about this- we have an official answer. And this came directly from corporate- no customer service, manager, etc. The corporate office that makes all these decisions. And since I know you guys trust me, and I trust my direct contact, we’re good, right?
Right- now go and plan your killer strategy!!
