For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
It’s 10 for $10 this week at Meijer, and that means great meals for less cost! Check out these six meals that will feed your family and keep money in your pockets.
Meal 1: Easy Chicken Cacciatore $3.99
- 1 lb chicken thighs
- 1 jar Meijer pasta sauce
- 1 box Meijer green box pasta
- 2 cloves, peeled (pantry)
- 1 Cole mini garlic loaf
Directions: Place the chicken thighs, pasta sauce, and garlic in a slow cooker. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the pasta and garlic loaf per package directions. Shred the chicken over the pasta, cover with sauce, and serve with the bread.
Meal 2: Roasted Ham, Macaroni and Cheese, and Vegetables $8.94
- 6 lb Cook’s shank ham
- 2 boxes Kraft Mac & Cheese, plus ingredients per package
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Place the ham in a roasting pan, cover with foil, and bake in a 375°F oven for 3 hours, until ham is tender. Prepare the mac & cheese and vegetables as directed on the package.
Meal 3: Ham Frittata $2.13
- 2 T butter (pantry)
- 1 onion, diced (pantry)
- Salt and pepper (pantry)
- 8 eggs, whisked
- ¼ C milk (pantry)
- 1 C ham, diced (pantry)
- 1 C Kraft shredded Swiss cheese
Directions: In a saute pan, melt the butter and saute the onions with salt and pepper until clear. Add the ham and brown slightly. In a bowl, mix the eggs and milk. Add the ham and onion mixture. Lightly grease a non-stick skillet and heat over medium heat. Add the egg mixture and top with the cheese. Stir lightly then allow to sit undisturbed, for about 5 minutes, until the bottom is set. Transfer to the oven and broil until the eggs are set and slightly brown on top. Remove, cover, and let sit 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve.
Meal 4: Slow Cooker Pork Chops and Stuffing with Vegetables $6.37
- 2 boxes Meijer stuffing
- 1 ½ lb assorted pork chops
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Prepare the stuffing with half the liquid indicated in the directions on the box. Place in a buttered slow cooker. Top with pork chops, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the vegetables as directed on the package.
Meal 5: Sloppy Joes and Fries $9.96
- 2 lb ground beef
- 2 cans Manwich sauce
- 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
- 1 bag Meijer French fries
Directions: Prepare the sloppy joes as directed on the can of Manwich. Prepare the fries as directed on the package.
Meal 6: Roasted Pork Loin with Pan Fried Potatoes and Spinach $6.48
- 2 lb pork loin
- 2.5 lb red potatoes, scrubbed and sliced thin
- 1 bag New Star Spinach
- 3 T butter (pantry)
Directions: Place the pork loin in a slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. About 40 minutes before serving, place the potatoes in a non-stick pan with half the butter. Saute until browned and tender, turning to brown the other side. When the potatoes are tender, add the spinach and remaining butter. Wilt the spinach.
