Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/11 : 6 Meals Under $50

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
Meal 1: Roasted Pork Shoulder with Rosemary Roasted Butternut Squash $4.76
- 2 lb Pork Shoulder Butt
- 3 T olive oil (pantry)
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped and peeled (pantry)
- 2 t ground black pepper (pantry)
- 1 medium butternut squash, scrubbed and cut into 1” cubes
- 2 T olive oil (pantry)
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary or 1 T dried rosemary (pantry)
Directions: Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker, fat side up. Make a paste from the olive oil garlic, and pepper, and rub on the fat side of the pork roast. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. About an hour before serving, place the squash on a rimmed baking sheet. Sprinkle with olive oil and rosemary. Bake in a 425°F oven for 45-60 minutes, until they are tender when pierced with a fork. Serve hot.
Meal 2: Sausage, Fresh Applesauce, and Boiled Potatoes $5.02
- 1 pkg Eckrich smoked sausage
- 3 lbs Michigan apples, any sweet variety, peeled, cored, and quartered
- ½ t cinnamon, if desired (pantry)
- 2.5 lbs Klondike Rose potatoes, scrubbed and quartered
Directions: Place the apples in a casserole dish with ¼ C water. Cover and bake at 350°F until tender. Mash with a potato masher and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired. Place the potatoes in a saucepan and cover with water. Simmer until tender. Broil or grill the sausage as desired.
Meal 3: Roasted Turkey Breast with Asparagus and Rice $14.43
- 1 Butterball Turkey Breast, thawed
- ½ stick butter (pantry)
- salt and pepper (pantry)
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, cleaned
- 1 box Rice-A-Roni, any variety
Directions: Place the thawed turkey breast in a roasting pan. Cover with softened butter, salt, and pepper. Cover with foil and roast in a 350°F oven for 2.5 hours, until turkey is tender and juices run clear when pierced near the bone. Steam or roast the asparagus in your favorite way. Prepare the rice as directed on the package. Refrigerate any leftover turkey for meal 4.
Meal 4: Turkey Pot Pie $5.32
- 3 C leftover turkey, cut into small pieces
- 1 jar Heinz turkey or savory gravy
- 1 bag Meijer mixed frozen vegetables
- 1 tube Pillsbury crescent rolls
Directions: In a 9×13 pan, place turkey, gravy, and vegetables. Stir well. Cover with crescent rolls (as a solid sheet). Bake in a 350°F oven 20-30 minutes, until bubbling and rolls are golden brown.
Meal 5: Meatloaf, Mac n Cheese, and Vegetables $10.33
- 2 lbs Ground beef
- 2 eggs (pantry)
- ½ C bread crumbs (pantry)
- salt and pepper (pantry)
- 2 t oregano (pantry)
- 1 t parsley (pantry)
- Velveeta Mac & Cheese
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Mix the beef, eggs, bread crumbs, and seasonings in a bowl. Turn out onto a baking sheet and form into a loaf. Bake in a 425°F oven for 1 hour or until no pink remains in the center. Prepare the mac & cheese and vegetables per directions on the packages.
Meal 6: Roasted Chicken with Avocado, Tomato, and Mozzarella Salad $8.94
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts
- salt and pepper
- 2 avocados, seed removed, flesh cubed and removed from skin
- 1 pt grape tomatoes, cut in half
- 1 pkg BelGioioso fresh mozzarella, cut into bite sized cubes
- ½ C olive oil (pantry)
- ½ C red wine or apple cider vinegar
- salt and pepper
Directions: Place the chicken in a baking dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and bake in a 350°F oven until no pink remains in the center, about an hour. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl and stir gently. Refrigerate until cold. Serve together.
