Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/12 : 7 Meals Under $50
This is the week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. I’m still working and tweaking this system, so if you have any feedback, please let me know! For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! We aren’t talking everything from a box either! These are pretty healthy meals, at a low Meijer price that will be pretty quick and easy to make any night of the week. You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates 10/12- 10/18 )

It’s a pretty good week at Meijer for saving money on your weekly grocery bill! Check out these seven meals for your family of four!
Meal 1: Chicken Cacciatore $6.28 (this is one of our FAV meals! )
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 jar Ragu, any variety
- 1 lb Barilla pasta, any shape
Directions: Place the chicken in a large saucepan and brown slightly, adding olive oil if needed. Cover with pasta sauce and simmer 40 minutes, until chicken breaks apart and is tender. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Serve the chicken and sauce over the pasta.
Meal 2: Pancakes and Sausage $5.50 (we love having breakfast food food for dinner!!)
- 1 pkg Aunt Jemima Pancake mix
- butter (pantry)
- syrup (pantry)
- 1 pkg Johnsonville breakfast sausage
Directions: Prepare pancakes and sausage according to package directions. Serve hot with butter and syrup.
Meal 3: Roasted Ham Dinner with Mashers and Vegetables $14.75
- 1 5 lb Cook’s spiral sliced ham
- 3 lb Russet potatoes
- milk (pantry)
- butter (pantry)
- 1 bag Bird’s Eye frozen vegetables
- flour
Directions: Roast the ham in the oven for 2-3 hours, until hot throughout and tender. Peel and dice the potatoes. Place in a large stockpot and cover with water. Boil until tender, about 40 minutes. Mash with butter and milk. Prepare the vegetables as desired. Make a slurry with the flour and cold water. Pour into the ham drippings and bring to a simmer to make gravy. Add water as needed. Serve together hot.
Meal 4: Ham and Bean Soup $4.49
- 2 C leftover ham, chopped
- 1 lb navy beans, rinsed and sorted (pantry)
- 1 28 oz can Hunt’s diced tomatoes
- 2 carrots, diced (pantry)
- 2 celery stalks, sliced (pantry)
- 2 cloves garlic (pantry)
- 1 loaf Markets of Meijer artisan bread
Directions: Place the ham, beans, tomatoes with juice, carrots, celery, and garlic in a large crock pot. Fill with water, cover, and set to low for 8-10 hours. Serve with bread.
Meal 5: Turkey Stroganoff $9.34
- 1 pkg Jennie-O ground turkey
- 1 pkg baby bella mushrooms, diced
- 1 medium onion, peeled and diced (pantry)
- 1 T olive oil (pantry)
- 2 cans Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 C sour cream
- 1 pkg egg noodles (pantry)
Directions: Brown the turkey, mushrooms, and onion in a saute pan with the olive oil. Add in the soup and sour cream. Stir and bring to a simmer. Boil the noodles as directed on the package. Serve hot.
Meal 6: Asian Noodle Soup $3.09
- 2 center cut pork chops, roasted and diced
- 2 stalks celery, sliced (pantry)
- 2 carrots, diced (pantry)
- 1 can Swanson’s Beef Broth
- 2 bricks Ramen noodles, with 1 seasoning packet
- soy sauce (pantry)
Directions: Saute the diced chops and vegetables in a bit of olive oil until tender. Add the broth and 2 cans of water. Add in the seasoning packet from the raman as well as the ramen noodles. Cook 3-5 minutes, until tender. Serve with soy sauce.
Meal 7: Ham and Scalloped Potatoes and Vegetables $4.25
- 2 C leftover ham, chopped
- 2 pkgs Idahoan scalloped potatoes, plus ingredients for preparation
- 1 pkg Green Giant frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Prepare the potatoes per package directions for baking. Add in the chopped ham and bake per package. Prepare the vegetables as desired. Serve hot.
Wow! Seven delicious meals for your family of four for under $50! Our total came up to $47.70! What a great way to save lots of money and still feed your family well!
