This is the week of 10/29 -bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. You can find more Meijer Meal Planning ideas HERE
For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
Meal 1: Herbed Roast with Broccoli $10.73
- 2 ½ lb top round roast
- 2 t salt (pantry)
- 1 t dry mustard (pantry)
- 1 t ground black pepper (pantry)
- 2 t crushed rosemary (pantry)
- 2 t dried thyme (pantry)
- 2 t oregano (pantry)
- 2 broccoli crowns
Directions: In a small bowl, mix the salt, mustard, pepper, rosemary, thyme, and oregano. Spread over the roast and place on a rack in a roasting pan. Place in a 450°F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 325°F for 1 hour, until a thermometer reads 140°F when placed in the center. Steam the broccoli to desired doneness. Leftover meat can be sliced thin for sandwiches.
Meal 2: Chicken in Red Beans and Rice $3.29
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized cubes
- 2 boxes Zatarain’s Red Beans and Rice (plus ingredients per package)
Directions: In a saute pan, cook the chicken until no pink remains, adding olive oil if needed. Add the rice mix and ingredients per package. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover and cook 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
Meal 3: Smoked Sausage, Squash, and Sweet Potatoes $3.40
- 1 pkg John Morrell smoked sausage, cut into ½ inch pieces
- 1 acorn squash, seeded and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 lb sweet potatoes, scrubbed and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 3 T butter (pantry)
Directions: Melt the butter over medium heat in a saute pan. Add the sausage, squash, and potatoes. Saute until browned, cover, and cook until the potatoes and squash are tender, about 15 minutes.
Meal 4: Pork Loin with Smashed Potatoes and Veggies $6.98
- 2 lb pork loin
- 2 t salt (pantry)
- 1 t pepper (pantry)
- 1 garlic powder (pantry)
- 1 pkg Little Potato Company potatoes
- 3 T butter, melted (pantry)
- 4 T parmesan cheese, grated (pantry)
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Place the pork loin in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix the salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle over the pork loin, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. About 1 hour before serving, place the potatoes on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in a 375°F oven for 20-30 minutes, until potatoes are tender. Smash with a fork or potato masher. Drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with parmesan. Bake in a 425°F oven for 10-15 minutes, until browned and crispy. Prepare the vegetables as desired.
Meal 5: Street Vendor Pork Tacos $8.36
- 2 lb country ribs
- 1 jar Chi-Chi’s salsa
- 1 pkg La Banderita flour tortillas
- 1 pkg Meijer shredded Monterey jack cheese
Directions: Place the ribs in a slow cooker. Top with salsa, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Serve on flour tortillas and cheese.
Meal 6: Vegetable Beef Stew $6.58
- 1 lb ground chuck
- 2 bags Meijer frozen mixed vegetables
- 1 potato, diced (pantry)
- 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
- ½ t salt (pantry)
- ½ t pepper (pantry)
- 3 C water (pantry)
- 1 28 oz can Meijer stewed tomatoes
- 1 C celery, chopped (pantry)
- 1 C carrots, sliced (pantry)
- 1 bay leaf (pantry)
- 1 T dried oregano (pantry)
- 1 t dried basil (pantry)
Directions: Crumble the ground chuck into a slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
