Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/5 : 7 GF Meals Under $53
It’s a new shopping week at Meijer:
This is the week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers and it’s all about Gluten Free Meals. I’m still working and tweaking this system, so if you have any feedback, please let me know! For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $60, along with a few things from your pantry! We aren’t talking everything from a box either! These are pretty healthy meals, at a low Meijer price that will be pretty quick and easy to make any night of the week. You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates 10/5- 10/11 )

WOW! There are some awesome dollar deals this week at your local Meijer store! From fresh to staples, it’s all there and it will be a great way to make some wonderful dishes this week.
Meal 1: Slow Cooker Chili $7.99
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped (pantry)
- 2 cans Ro-tel tomatoes
- 2 cans Bush’s Best dark red kidney beans
- 2 T chili powder (pantry)
Directions: Saute the meat and onions until no pink remains. Place it and the remaining ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover and set to low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve hot with shredded cheese or your other favorite chili additions.
Meal 2: Fresh Fall Salad $5.00
- 1 bag NewStar fresh leaf spinach
- 1 orange bell pepper, diced
- 1 ripe avocado, skin removed and flesh diced
- 1 pkg Campari tomatoes, diced
- 1 pomegranate, cut in half and arils removed
- Salad dressing of choice (pantry)
Directions: Place all ingredients in a bowl. Enjoy.
Meal 3: Chicken and Mushrooms $5.98
- 2 lbs chicken breasts
- 2 T olive oil
- 2 pkgs white mushrooms, sliced
- 1 C white wine (pantry)
- 1 C white rice (pantry)
- 1 C water or chicken stock (pantry)
- 1 T dried rosemary (pantry)
Directions: Heat a saute pan over medium high heat. Add the olive oil and chicken. Brown the skin of the chicken until crispy. Spray a deep baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. Place the water, wine, and rice in the bottom of the pot. Top with the chicken, mushrooms, and rosemary. Cover and place in a 400°F oven for 1 hour or until the rice is tender and the chicken is cooked through. Serve hot.
Meal 4: Quinoa and Cheese with a Salad $8.08
- 1 lb quinoa, cooked according to package directions
- 2 T butter (pantry)
- 1 T potato starch (pantry)
- 1 C milk or half n half (pantry)
- 1 pkg shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 pkg Dole salad blends
- 1 pkg Campari tomatoes
- 1 pkg mushrooms
- Salad dressing of your choice (pantry)
Directions: In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the potato starch and allow to cook about a minute. Slowly add the milk (or half n half) and bring to a simmer, allowing the mixture to thicken. Add the shredded cheese slowly, allowing it to melt between additions. Add in the quinoa and mix well. Make a salad with the remaining ingredients and serve.
Meal 5: Sloppy Dogs and Tots $5.79
- 1 pkg Oscar Mayer hot dogs, cut into pieces
- 1 can Hunt’s Manwich sauce
- 1 pkg Ore-Ida tater tots
Directions: Place the hot dog pieces in a saucepan and cover with sauce. Heat to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes. Cook tots according to package directions. Serve together, or with the sloppy dogs over the tots with a bit of cheese.
Meal 6: Stuffed Pork Loin with Baked Potatoes and Veggie $10.48
- 2 lbs boneless pork loin
- 1 pkg Meijer Swiss cheese slices
- ½ pkg NewStar fresh leaf spinach
- 1 pkg baby bella mushrooms, sliced thin
- 4 baking potatoes, scrubbed and poked with a fork (pantry)
- butter (pantry)
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Place the pork loin on a flat cutting board and slice lengthwise, nearly all the way through, like a hot dog bun. Fill with Swiss cheese and spinach. Wrap with kitchen twine and place in baking dish. Cover with sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cover with foil and bake in a 375°F oven for 2 hours, uncovering the last 5 minutes to brown the outside. When there’s about 1 hour and 15 minutes left, place the potatoes in the oven. Allow to bake with the pork loin. Prepare the vegetables as desired. Serve all together hot.
Meal 7: Jambalaya $10.00 {my Fav!!}
- 1 pkg Eckrich Smoked Sausage
- ½ onion, diced (pantry)
- ½ pkg Meijer Cooked Shrimp
- 1 can Hunt’s diced tomatoes
- 1 can Hunt’s tomato sauce
- 2 ½ c chicken stock (pantry)
- 1 C white rice (pantry)
- 1 T dried parsley flakes (pantry)
- 1 T beef bouillon (pantry)
- ½ t thyme leaves (pantry)
- ½ t garlic powder (pantry)
- ½ t black pepper (pantry)
- ¼ t cayenne pepper (pantry)
- 1 bay leaf (pantry)
Directions: Saute the sausage and onion in a stockpot over medium heat, adding oil if needed. Once the onions have started to caramelize, add remaining ingredients, except shrimp. Bring to a simmer and cover, simmering about 20 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until they are hot all the way through. Serve hot.
