Meijer Meal Planning Week 10/5 : 7 Meals Under $56
This is the week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers. I’m still working and tweaking this system, so if you have any feedback, please let me know! For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $60, along with a few things from your pantry! We aren’t talking everything from a box either! These are pretty healthy meals, at a low Meijer price that will be pretty quick and easy to make any night of the week. You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.

There are so many wonderful deals this week at Meijer! It made my job pretty darn easy finding seven meals under $56.00 bucks! For coupons to match these deals- you can either search the coupon database and/OR head over to the matchups for this week and grab them there!
Meal 1: Pasta Florentine $7.69
- 1 pkg Meijer Italian sausage
- ½ bag NewStar Spinach
- 2 jars Meijer pasta sauce, any flavor
- 1 box Meijer green box pasta, any variety
Directions: Slice the sausage lengthwise and peel off the skin. Brown as you would ground beef, breaking up as it cooks. Place in a saucepan with the pasta sauce and bring to a simmer. Add the spinach and allow to wilt. While the pasta sauce is coming to a simmer, cook the pasta according to the package directions. Serve hot.
Meal 2: Chicken Sausage, Mashed Potatoes, and Vegetables $6.00
- 1 pkg Meijer gourmet sausages
- 2 pkgs Idahoan Mashed Potatoes, any flavor
- 1 pkg Meijer frozen vegetables, any flavor
Directions: Place the sausages on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake in a 425°F oven until skins are crispy and sausage is hot, about 10 minutes. Cook the potatoes and vegetables according to package directions. Serve hot.
Meal 3: Pork Carnitas $7.18
- 1 T olive oil (pantry)
- 2 lbs boneless pork loin
- 1 onion, diced (pantry)
- 1 jalapeno, ribs removed, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- salt (pantry)
- pepper (pantry)
- 2 t oregano (pantry)
- 1 t ground cumin (pantry)
- 1 pkg Meijer tortillas
- 1 pkg Meijer sour cream
Directions: Heat a saute pan over medium heat. Add the olive oil and brown the outside of the pork loin. Place in a crock pot and cover with the onion, halapeno, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and cumin. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Shred the pork, discarding any fat. Serve with tortillas and sour cream.
Meal 4: Burgers and Garlic Fries $9.49
- 1 ½ lb ground beef
- 1 pkg Meijer hamburger buns
- 1 bag Ore-Ida fries
- ¼ C butter (pantry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- 3 T parmesan cheese (pantry)
Directions: Form the beef into patties and cook in your favorite way. Cook the fries according to the package directions. In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the garlic. Allow to warm gently to infuse the butter with flavor. Remove from heat and add the parmesan. Pour over the fries when serving.
Meal 5: Baked Barbecue Chicken, Rice, and Veggies $5.40
- 4 pieces Meijer boneless chicken breasts (frozen)
- 1 bottle barbecue sauce (pantry)
- 2 pkgs Knorr rice
- 1 pkg Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
Directions: Place the chicken, frozen, in a baking dish. Top with barbecue sauce and cover with aluminum foil. Bake in a 350°F oven for 1 ½ hours, until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink. Prepare the rice and vegetables per package directions. Serve hot.
Meal 6: Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, and Veggies $19.48
- 2.5 lb chuck roast
- 2 pkgs white mushrooms, cleaned and ends removed
- 3 onions, chopped (pantry)
- 3 lbs potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 3 T butter (pantry)
- ¼ C milk (pantry)
- 1 pkg Meijer frozen vegetables, any variety
- 2 jars Heinz beef gravy
Directions: Place the meat in a slow cooker. Top with salt and pepper, mushrooms and onions. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. About an hour before serving, place the potatoes in a large pot; cover with water and salt well. Bring to a boil and simmer until potatoes are tender. Drain thoroughly and mash with butter and milk. Heat the gravy in a small saucepan. Prepare the vegetables as desired. Serve all hot.
Meal 7: Beef Pot Pie $1
- Leftover beef pot roast
- Leftover vegetables
- Leftover gravy
- 1 bag Meijer mixed or stew vegetables
- 2 C Bisquick (pantry+
- ⅔ C (or a little more) milk (pantry)
Directions: Heat oven to 400°F. In a large pan, place the gravy and heat. Shred the beef and add to the gravy, adding a little water to thin out the mixture. Add in the leftover and frozen vegetables. Pour into a large Dutch oven or casserole dish. Cover and place in the oven for about 40 minutes, until the mixture is bubbly. Mix the Bisquick and milk, adding extra milk if the mixture seems dry. Remove cover from Dutch oven and place heaping tablespoons of dough in the gravy, covering the surface of the mixture. Return to the oven for 20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and done throughout. Serve hot.
