For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

Meal 1:  Hot Dogs with Fries  $6.00

  • 1 pkg Ball Park hot dogs
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 1 bag Ore Ida fries, any variety

Directions:  Prepare the fries according to the package directions.  Broil the hot dogs and place in the buns.  Serve with condiments.

Meal 2:  Fried chicken with Au Gratin Potatoes and Veggies  $7.99

  • 1 8 pc deli fried chicken
  • 1 box Betty Crocker Au Gratin potatoes plus ingredients per package
  • 1 bag Bird’s Eye vegetables, any variety

Directions:  Place the chicken on a baking sheet and reheat in a 400°F oven for 15 minutes, until heated through.  Prepare the potatoes and vegetables as directed on the package.

Meal 3:  Baked Pasta  $7.97

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 jar Meijer pasta sauce
  • 1 box Meijer pasta, rotini
  • 1 pkg Kraft shredded mozzarella

Directions:  Brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic.  Drain.  Cook the pasta according to the package directions.  Layer the pasta, sauce, and meat mixture, topping with the cheese.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 30 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted.

Meal 4: Ham with Baby Carrots and Sweet Potatoes $15.66

  • 1 7 lb Cook’s Spiral Sliced Ham
  • 4 med sweet potatoes, scrubbed and pierced
  • 1 bag baby carrots
  • Butter (pantry)

Directions:  Place the ham in a roasting pan set to 350°F or a slow cooker set to low.  Cover and cook 2-4 hours, until hot and tender.  Bake the sweet potatoes in a 350°F oven for 1 hour or until tender when pierced with a fork.  Steam the carrots for 5-7 minutes until crisp-tender.  Serve with butter and honey if desired.

Meal 5:  Ham and Swiss Subs with Chips  $5.38

  • Sliced leftover ham
  • 1 bag Kraft shredded Swiss cheese
  • Mustard, if desired (pantry)
  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 bag Lay’s potato chips

Directions:  Slice the loaf of bread into 4 “rolls” and slice lengthwise.  Spread with mustard, if desired.  Layer with ham and cheese.  Bake on a baking sheet in a 400°F oven until cheese is melted and ham is warm.  Serve with chips.

 

Meal 6:  Brats with Mac and Cheese  $5.85

  • 1 pkg Johnsonville smoked brats
  • 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns
  • 1 box Velveeta shells and cheese

Directions:  Bake the brats until hot throughout.  Place in the buns.  Prepare the mac and cheese as directed on the package.

This week, six easy meals will cost only $48.85, and you will have lots of leftover ham for other meals!
