Meijer Meal Planning Week 1/3: 6 Meals Under $45

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price.

Meijer Meal Planning

It’s a great start to a new year!  Check out these fresh meals that will bring smiles to your family’s faces.

  • Meal 1: Slow Cooker Nacho Cheese Chicken Chowder $8.45
  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1 can Campbell’s Nacho Cheese Soup
  • 1 pkg Bird’s Eye corn
  • 2 cans Ro-Tel Fire Roasted tomatoes with juice
  • 1 pkg Kraft Shredded Cheddar

Directions:  Place the chicken, soup, corn, and tomatoes in a 4 quart slow cooker.  Cover and set to low for 5-6 hours.  Stir and serve with cheddar on the top.

Meal 2: Homemade Cheeseburger Macaroni  $6.42

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 15 oz can Contadina tomato sauce
  • 2 C pasta, medium shells, dry
  • 1 ¼ C water
  • ¼ C ketchup
  • 1 pkg cheddar jack shredded cheese

Directions:  Brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic, in a large deep skillet, until no pink remains in the meat; drain.  Add the tomato sauce, pasta, and water.  Cover and cook 15 minutes, until the pasta is tender.  Stir in the ketchup and cheese.  Serve hot.

Meal 3: Balsamic Pork Tenderloin with Rice and Vegetables $6.37

  • 2 lbs center cut pork tenderloin half
  • 1 C vegetable broth (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • ½ C balsamic vinegar (pantry)
  • 1 T honey (pantry)
  • 1 T soy sauce (pantry)
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 bag Bird’s Eye frozen vegetables, any variety
  • 1 pkg Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice, any variety

Directions:  Place the pork loin, broth, garlic vinegar, honey, soy and Worcestershire sauces.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Before serving, prepare the vegetables and rice per package directions.  Serve hot.

Meal 4:  Slow Cooker Pot Roast  $14.14

  • 3 lbs Beef chuck roast
  • 3 lbs Russet potatoes, cubed
  • ½ lb carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 3 stalks celery, washed and chopped
  • 3 onions, peeled and chopped (pantry)

Directions:  Place the roast in a large slow cooker.  Season with salt and pepper and add the remaining vegetables.  Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours.  Serve hot.  Refrigerate about half of the roast and the juice for the next recipe.

Meal 5:  Beef Pot Pie  $2

  • leftover beef roast, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 2 C juice and solidified fat from the roast
  • 6 T flour (pantry)
  • 1 bag Bird’s Eye mixed vegetables
  • 1 pkg Pillsbury refrigerated biscuits

Directions:  In a Dutch oven, place the juice.  Whisk in the flour and heat until bubbly, thinning with warm water if needed.  Add in the veggies and meat.  Cover and bake at 400°F for 30 minutes.  Uncover and place the separated biscuits over the top of the mixture.  Bake, uncovered, about 20 minutes or until the biscuits are browned.  Serve hot.

Meal 6:  White Turkey Chili  $7.31

  • 1 pkg Jennie-O ground turkey
  • 2 T olive or coconut oil (pantry)
  • 1 large onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 T flour (pantry)
  • 2 cans Meijer cannellini beans
  • 1 32 oz pkg Kitchen Basic chicken stock
  • 1 4 oz can Meijer diced chilies
  • 1 T ground chili powder

Directions:  Brown the ground turkey and onion in the oil, until no pink remains in the turkey.  Add the flour and chili powder; cook another minute.  Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Serve hot with sour cream, if desired.

All of these wonderful, home cooked meals will cost $44.69 this week!
