For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
Meal 1: Pasta Night $5.32
- 1 lb chicken thighs
- 2 jars Prego pasta sauce, any red variety
- ½ t oregano (pantry)
- ½ t basil (pantry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- 1 box Meijer pasta, any variety
Directions: Place the chicken, sauce, and seasonings in a slow cooker. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the pasta as directed on the package and serve the sauce and chicken over the pasta.
Meal 2: Teriyaki Ribs and Rice $5.97
- 3 lbs country ribs
- ½ C soy sauce (pantry)
- ¼ C olive or sesame oil (pantry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- 2 T honey (pantry)
- 2 C rice (pantry)
- 4 C water (pantry)
Directions: Place the ribs in a slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, oil, garlic, and honey. Pour over the ribs, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. About 30 minutes before serving, place the rice and water in a saucepan. Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Serve the ribs and juices over the rice.
Meal 3: Cheesy Potatoes and Sausage $8.26
- 1 pkg Meijer frozen shredded hash browns
- 1 can Meijer Cream of Chicken soup
- 1 16 oz container Meijer sour cream
- 1 pkg Meijer shredded colby cheese
- 1 stick butter, melted (pantry)
- 1 med onion, diced (pantry)
- 1 Eckrich smoked sausage, cut into ½ inch pieces
Directions: In a slow cooker, mix the hash browns, soup, sour cream, butter, and onion. Mix in ½ of the cheese and all of the smoked sausage. Cover and set to low for 4-6 hours. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on the top, cover and heat another 15-20 minutes.
Meal 4: Corned beef, Cabbage, and Potatoes $7.99
- 2 ½ lb corned beef brisket
- ½ C apple cider vinegar (pantry)
- 5 cloves garlic, peeled (pantry)
- 4 lb cabbage, cut into chunks
- 2 ½ lb red potatoes, scrubbed and halved
Directions: Place the corned beef and juices in a large slow cooker. Sprinkle the seasoning packet over the top and add the vinegar and garlic. Place the potatoes and cabbage in the slow cooker, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
Meal 5: Corned Beef Hash and Eggs $2.19
- Leftover corned beef, diced
- 1 pkg Simply Potatoes with Diced Onion
- 8 eggs (pantry)
- Olive oil (pantry)
Directions: In a saute pan, heat the potatoes and corned beef until crispy. Top with eggs, cover, and cook to desired doneness. Serve with toast, if desired.
Meal 6: Crabby Cakes with Salad $7.24
- 2 pkg Louis Kemp imitation crab meat
- ½ red pepper, diced
- ½ pkg Meijer cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg (pantry)
- Breadcrumbs (pantry)
- Olive oil (pantry)
- 1 bag Dole American Salad blend
- ½ container Campari tomatoes, diced
- Salad dressing (pantry)
Directions: In a bowl, mix the crab, pepper, cream cheese, and egg. Add about ¼ C breadcrumbs and mix well. Form into patties, dredge in the breadcrumbs, and fry in the olive oil in a saute pan over medium heat until crispy, flipping once. Place the remaining ingredients in a bowl and serve with the crab cakes.
