Meijer Meal Planning Week 4/9: 6 Meals $39 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry!   You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)

  • This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
  • All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )

 

Easter may be this coming Sunday, but the sales are more than just ham at Meijer.  That means amazing meals for your family this week for less!  Check out these amazing meals that will keep them coming back for more.

Meal 1: Roasted Turkey Breast with Asparagus and Baked Potatoes  $12.23

  • 1 4 lb Butterball turkey breast, thawed
  • 1 lb asparagus, washed and ends trimmed
  • ½ lemon (pantry)
  • 3 T butter (pantry)
  • 4 large Russet potatoes, scrubbed and pierced
  • Butter for potatoes (pantry)

Directions:  Place the turkey, breast side up, in a roasting pan.  Salt and pepper liberally then cover with foil.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 2 ½ hours or until a thermometer in the center of the meat reads 160°F.  Let the turkey rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.  About 1 hour into the roasting of the turkey, place the potatoes in the oven and allow to bake until tender when pierced with a fork, about 1 ½ hours.  Heat a saute pan over medium high heat and add the 3 tablespoons of butter, then the asparagus.  Saute until crisp tender and slightly browned.  Squeeze the lemon over the top and serve.

Meal 2:  Cheddar Turkey Casserole $3.98

  • 3 C leftover turkey, cubed
  • 4 C uncooked rotini pasta
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 3 T butter (pantry)
  • 3 T flour (pantry)
  • 1 t salt (pantry)
  • ¼ t dry mustard (pantry)
  • ¼ t ground thyme (pantry)
  • 2 C milk (pantry)
  • 1 pkg Kraft shredded cheddar
  • 1 bag Birds Eye frozen mix vegetables

Directions:  Cook the pasta according the the package directions and drain.  In a sauce pan, melt the butter.  Add the garlic and saute for 1 minute.  Stir in the flour and allow to cook while stirring for 1 more minute.  Add the salt, mustard, and thyme, stirring just until mixed.  Add the milk slowly and stir constantly, breaking up any bits of flour.  Cook until thickened, a few minutes.  Remove from the heat, add the cheese, and stir until melted.  Place the pasta in a 9×13 pan.  Top with the turkey and vegetable mix.  Pour the cheese sauce over the top.  Bake uncovered in a 350°F oven for 30-40 minutes, until bubbly and hot throughout.

Meal 3:  Mock Shepherd’s Pie  $6.99

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 T Worcestershire sauce (pantry)
  • 1 jar Heinz beef gravy
  • 1 bag Birds Eye mixed vegetables
  • 1 box StoveTop stuffing mix (plus ingredients per package)

Directions:  Brown the ground beef and onion, until no pink remains.  Drain; add the Worcestershire sauce and gravy, with a bit of water.  Heat to simmering.  Add the vegetables and pour the mixture into a 9×13 pan.  Prepare the stuffing as directed on the package.  Spread over the top of the meat mixture.  Bake in a 350°F oven for 30-40 minutes.

Meal 4:  Smoked Sausage Skillet  $3

  • 1 pkg Hillshire Farms smoked sausage, cut into ¼ inch slices
  • ¼ c olive oil (pantry)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 1 bag Birds Eye broccoli, thawed
  • ½ C water (pantry)
  • ½ C tomato sauce (pantry)
  • 2 C rice (pantry)
  • 4 c water (pantry)

Directions:  In a large skillet, brown the sausage in the olive oil with the onion and garlic.  Add the broccoli, ½ C water, and tomato sauce.  Bring to a simmer.  In a saucepan, place the rice and water.  Cover and bring to a simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.  Stir the rice into the sausage mixture.

Meal 5:  Quick Ham and Bean Soup  $4.49

  • 1 8 ox Meijer diced ham
  • 1 T olive oil 3 (pantry)
  • 1 onion, diced (pantry)
  • 2 carrots, diced (pantry)
  • 2 celery, diced (pantry)
  • 3 15.5 oz cans Meijer Great Northern Beans

Directions:  Saute the ham in a stock pot with the oil, onions, carrots, and celery, until the onions are clear.  Add the beans including the juice, and enough water to cover the beans plus 3 inches.  Simmer for 30 minutes, until veggies are tender and beans start to pop.  Serve with crusty bread, if desired.

Meal 6:  Pierogi Bake  $8.74

  • 1 32 oz bag Mrs. T’s Pierogies
  • 2 jars Prego Basil Pesto Alfredo Sauce
  • 1 can Meijer petite diced tomatoes, drained

Directions:  Arrange the pierogies in a 9×13 pan.  Top with the alfredo sauce.  Cover and bake 45 minutes in a 350°F oven, until pierogies are tender.  Remove cover, sprinkle tomatoes on the top and bake another 10 minutes.

This week, six mouth watering meals will only cost $39.43!
