For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $33 bucks! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price.
Meijer has some amazing sales this week to take advantage of for some price-conscious meal planning. Here are six amazing meals that will give your family reasons to smile.
Meal 1: One Skillet Lemon Chicken with Red Potatoes $5.95
- 3 carrots, diced (pantry)
- 2 lbs red potatoes, cut into ½ inch dice
- 1.5 lb Meijer frozen chicken breast, thawed and cut into bite size pieces
- 3 T olive oil (pantry)
- 2 T butter (pantry)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- salt (pantry)
- lemon pepper (pantry)
- paprika (pantry)
- 2 lemons
Directions: Melt the butter and olive oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Place the carrots and potatoes. Allow to cook7-10 minutes, until slightly browned. Season chicken with salt and lemon pepper liberally. Place in pan; stir occasionally and cook until no pink remains. Zest and juice 1 of the lemons; add to the pan. Thinly slice the remaining lemon and add to the pan. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove the lemon slices and serve.
Meal 2: Pork Cassoulet $6.20
- 2 T olive oil
- 1.5 lbs pork loin, diced
- 1 onion, diced (pantry)
- 2 stalks celery, diced (pantry)
- 2 carrots, diced (pantry)
- 2 cloves of garlic, diced
- 1 can Meijer dark red kidney beans
- 1 can Meijer Cannellini beans
- 1 can Meijer black eyed peas
- 1 large can petite diced tomatoes
Directions: Heat the olive oil over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Add the pork loin, onion, celery, and carrots. Cook until the vegetables are just starting to get tender and the pork is cooked through. Add the garlic and stir for 1 minute. Drain the beans and add them to the pan. Add the tomatoes with their juices. Simmer 20 minutes, until the juice is reduced by 50%. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
Meal 3: One Pot Pasta $5.16
- 1 box spaghetti (not thin)
- 1 large can diced tomatoes
- 1 large onion, cut into slices (pantry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- ½ t red pepper flakes
- 4 ½ C vegetable or chicken stock
- 2 t dried oregano (pantry)
- 2 t dried basil (pantry)
Directions: Add all ingredients to a Dutch oven. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring after 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 5 minutes. Serve hot with parmesan cheese, if desired.
Meal 4: Chili Dog Casserole $5.33
- 1 pkg Ball Park hot dogs, cut into pieces
- 1 pkg Meijer hot dog buns, broken into pieces
- 1 can Hormel chili, no beans
- ½ block Kraft cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions: Heat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×9 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Place the hot dog buns in the pan. Cover with hot dogs, chili, and cheese. Bake uncovered 20-30 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
Meal 5: Tuna Pasta Salad $4.22
- 1 box Meijer rotini pasta
- 1 can StarKist tuna, drained and rinsed
- 1 lb tomatoes on the vine, diced
- 1 avocado, diced
- ½ greenhouse cucumber, diced
- ½ C olive oil (pantry)
- ¼ C apple cider or red wine vinegar
- 1 packet Good Seasons Italian Dressing
- garlic salt
Directions: Boil the pasta as directed on the package. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place the pasta, tuna, and vegetables in a bowl. Mix the oil, cider, and dressing mix. Add garlic salt to taste. Pour over salad and chill before serving.
Meal 6: Tortellini Alfredo with Peas $6
- 1 bag Meijer frozen tortellini
- 1 jar Classico alfredo sauce
- 1 bag Meijer frozen petite peas
Directions: Prepare the tortellini as directed on the package. Heat the sauce in a saucepan with the peas. Serve together.
These 6 meals will cost you a mere $32.86! Not bad to feed your family of four!
