Meijer Meal Planning Week 6/4: 6 Meals Under $39 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
Summer is in full swing! Memorial Day is behind us and the hot days of summer mean it’s time for some easy, cool meals that will keep your family in smiles. Check out these six meals from Meijer that will keep your kitchen cool!
Meal 1: Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with Summer Salad $5.59
- 1 lb split chicken breasts
- ¼ C olive oil (pantry)
- 3 T rice wine vinegar (pantry)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced (pantry)
- ¼ C soy sauce (pantry)
- 3 romaine hearts (from 6 pk), rinsed and chopped
- ½ pkg Compari tomatoes, chopped
- 1 greenhouse cucumber, sliced
- Salad dressing of choice (pantry)
Directions: Place the chicken, oil, vinegar, garlic, and soy sauce in a plastic zippy bag and shake. Let marinated on the counter for 30 minutes. Grill until done, basting with leftover sauce, making sure to grill for at least 3 minutes after the last basting. When no pink remains near the bone, remove from the grill, let rest 10 minutes, and slice into thin strips. In a bowl, mix the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber. Serve the salads topped with the chicken and dressing.
Meal 2: Herbed Boneless Pork Chops with Asparagus and Rice A Roni $5.26
- 2 lb boneless pork loin, sliced into chops
- 2 T olive oil (pantry)
- 1 t dried oregano (pantry)
- ½ t garlic salt (pantry)
- 1 t dried rosemary (pantry)
- ½ t marjoram (pantry)
- 1 lb asparagus, rinsed and ends trimmed
- 1 box Rice A Roni, any variety
Directions: In a small bowl, mix the oil, oregano, salt, rosemary, and marjoram. Grill the chops over medium high heat, basting with this mixture until no pink remains in the center. Steam the asparagus to crisp tender and sprinkle with lemon juice, if desired. Prepare the rice as directed on the package.
Meal 3: Steak in a Pouch $7.13
- 1 ½ lb chuck steak
- 2 ½ lb red potatoes, scrubbed and sliced
- 1 lb carrots, scrubbed and chopped
- ½ lb Vidalia onions, sliced
- Aluminum foil (pantry)
- 4 T butter (pantry)
- Salt and pepper (pantry)
Directions: Lay out two pieces of aluminum foil in a cross, long enough to wrap around the ingredients. Place the chuck steak in the middle of the cross, seasoning with salt and pepper. Layer the remaining ingredients, placing pats of butter on the top. Wrap and seal tightly in the foil. Place on the grill over medium heat and close the lid. Grill for 30 minutes, turn over, and grill for another 15 minutes. Carefully open the foil to check the vegetables for tenderness. If tender, remove and serve. Otherwise, wrap back up and grill until veggies are tender.
Meal 4: Slow Cooker Barbecue Ribs with Fries $5.58
- 2 lb country style ribs
- ½ bottle barbecue sauce (pantry)
- 1 bag Meijer French fries
Directions: Place the ribs in the slow cooker; pour the barbecue sauce over the top, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the fries as directed on the package.
Meal 5: Chicken Sausage, Green Beans, and Tomatoes $4.38
- 1 pkg Meijer chicken sausage links, cut into slices
- 1 lb green beans, washed and ends removed
- 1 can Hunt’s Petite Diced Tomatoes
Directions: Saute the sausage in a saute pan over medium high heat. Add in the beans and saute until slightly caramelized. Add the tomatoes and bring to a simmer; simmer 5 minutes and serve.
Meal 6: Pasta Salad $10.87
- 1 lb split chicken breast
- 1 box Meijer green box rotini or tri-colored rotini pasta
- 1 pint grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 greenhouse cucumber, diced
- 1 8 oz bar Kraft extra sharp cheddar or mozzarella, cut into small pieces
- 1 can Meijer ripe olives
- 1 bottle Meijer zesty Italian dressing
Directions: Grill or bake the chicken until done throughout. Allow to cool and cut into chunks. Prepare the pasta as directed on the package, strain and rinse in cold water. Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Refrigerate overnight for best flavor. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
