Meijer Meal Planning Week 9/9: 6 Meals $38
It’s a new week of bringing you these awesome budget friendly meal planning for all of you Meijer Shoppers.
For this week the Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based on a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price.
Meal 1: Slow Cooker Ribs, Apples, Onions, and Squash with Noodles $8.28
- 2 lbs country ribs
- 1 lb Gala apples, cored and sliced
- 2 onions, peeled and sliced (pantry)
- 1 ½ lb butternut squash, scrubbed, seeded, and diced
- 1 pkg Meijer kluski noodles
Directions: Place the ribs, apples, onions, and squash in a slow cooker. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Cover and set to low for 6-8 hours. Prepare the noodles per the package directions. Serve the meat mixture over the noodles.
Meal 2: Jambalaya $4.34
- 1 pkg John Morrell smoked sausage, cut into ½ inch pieces
- ½ lb boneless/skinless chicken, cut into bite sized pieces
- 1 family sized package Zataran’s jambalaya mix
Directions: Brown the sausage and chicken in a deep skillet. Add the rice mixture and prepare according to the package.
Meal 3: Garlic Parmesan Boneless Chicken Wings with Fries $5.98
- 1 pkg Meijer frozen chicken nuggets
- 1 pkg Meijer French fries
- 6 cloves garlic, peeled (pantry)
- 2 T olive oil (pantry)
- ½ C mayonnaise (pantry)
- 1 T corn syrup (optional, pantry)
- 2 T grated parmesan cheese (pantry)
- 1 t lemon juice (pantry)
- 1 T apple cider vinegar (pantry)
- ¼ t thyme (pantry)
- ¼ t marjoram (pantry)
- ¼ t oregano (pantry)
- ¼ t basil (pantry)
- ½ t red pepper flakes (pantry)
- ½ t salt (pantry)
- ¼ t black pepper (pantry)
Directions: Prepare the chicken and fries according to the package directions. Place the remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor. Allow to sit for 10 minutes for the flavors to meld. Toss the cooked chicken in the sauce or use for dipping.
Meal 4: Sausage Stuffed Squash $6.22
- 1 lb Meijer ground Italian sausage
- 4 slices bread, torn to small pieces (pantry)
- 3 T half & half or milk (pantry)
- 3 T grated parmesan cheese (pantry)
- 2 acorn squashes, cut in half lengthwise and seeded
Directions: In a bowl, place the bread and half & half. Allow to stand for 5 minutes. Mix in the sausage and cheese. Stuff the squashes, place in a baking dish, cover and bake in a 400°F oven for 1 hour, or until the sausage is cooked through and the squash are tender.
Meal 5: Baked Chicken with Rice and Vegetables $6.38
- 2 lb boneless/skinless chicken breasts
- 2 lemons, sliced (pantry)
- Salt and pepper (pantry)
- 2 boxes Rice A Roni, any variety
- 1 bag Meijer frozen vegetables
Directions: Place the chicken in a baking dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and place the lemon slices on top. Cover and bake in a 374°F oven for 1 hour or until no pink remains in the chicken. Prepare the rice and vegetables as directed on the packages.
Meal 6: Quick Chili $6.64
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 cans Meijer kidney beans, drained
- 2 lg cans Meijer petite diced tomatoes
- 2 onions, diced (pantry)
- Salt and pepper (pantry)
- 3 T chili powder (pantry)
Directions: Brown the ground beef and onions in a Dutch oven. Add the beans, tomatoes, and chili powder. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Simmer on medium heat for 30-40 minutes, until the beans are tender and the sauce thickens. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
