Meijer Meal Planning Week 9/4: 6 Meals – $34 Bucks

For this week, using the Favado App and our Meijer Matchups posted here on A Mitten Full Of Savings, I’ve been able to come up with a whole week’s worth of dinners that will cost you less than $50, along with a few things from your pantry! You can also print out my FREE Meal Planning printables that will help you plan and organize your meals each week! (this is always super helpful for me!!)
- This is based off of a family of 4-5- so you will need to adjust it accordingly for a bigger or smaller family.
- All items are on sale or part of the lower Meijer price. If you don’t have the pantry items, then you will need to add those into your final price. (sale dates )
The great sales continue at Meijer, giving us a great opportunity to save money while eating great food! Check out these six meals, with ingredients purchased from Meijer!
Meal 1: Asian Beef Wraps $2.78
- 1 lb ground beef
- ¼ C soy sauce (pantry)
- 2 T garlic, minced (pantry)
- 2 T hoisin sauce (pantry)
- 1 head iceberg lettuce, separated into leaves
Directions: Brown the ground beef and garlic; drain. Add the soy and hoisin sauces, simmering to reduce the sauce by half. Move off the burner, and allow to cool. When just warm to the touch, place in the leaves and wrap like a burrito.
Meal 2: Pork Loin with Butternut Squash $6.97
- 3 lb pork loin
- Salt and pepper
- 1 butternut squash, cut in half and seeds removed
- 2 T butter (pantry)
- 2 T brown sugar (pantry)
Directions: Place the pork loin in a slow cooker, fat side up. Salt and pepper liberally, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. About an hour before dinner, place the butternut squash in a baking pan. Place the butter and brown sugar in the seed hole, cover with foil, and bake in a 425°F oven for about an hour or until the flesh is soft when pierced with a fork. Save about half of the pork loin for the next recipe.
Meal 3: Pork Carnitas $6.63
- 1 ½ lb leftover pork, shredded
- 1 pkg La Banderita soft taco tortillas
- 1 pkg Frontera Chipotle Garlic taco sauce
- ½ pkg Kraft shredded cheddar
Directions: Place the pork and Frontera sauce in a slow cooker. Cover and let simmer 4-6 hours. Place on the tortillas and top with cheddar.
Meal 4: Slow Cooker Roasted Chicken with Mashers and Fresh Pickles $5.56
- 1 4 lb whole chicken
- 2.5 lb white potatoes, peeled and cubed
- Milk and butter for mashers (pantry)
- 3 cucumbers, sliced thin
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- ½ C cider vinegar (pantry)
- ½ C water
- ½ t salt
- ½ t pepper
Directions: Rinse and place the chicken in a large slow cooker. Salt and pepper, cover, and set to low for 6-8 hours. Mix the cucumbers, onions, vinegar, water, salt, and pepper in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate 4-6 hours or more. About 40 minutes before serving, place the potatoes in a large pot of salted water and boil until tender. Drain and mash with the milk and butter to desired consistency.
Meal 5: Sausage with Fries $5.19
- 1 pkg Eckrich sausage
- 1 pkg Meijer French Fries
Directions: Place the fries on a baking sheet and bake per package directions. Grill or broil the sausage to desired doneness.
Meal 6: Baked Tilapia with Salad $6.75
- 1 lb frozen Meijer tilapia
- 1 bag Dole salad
- 1 cucumber, sliced
- ½ pkg Compari tomatoes, chopped
- Salad dressing, any variety (pantry)
Directions: Thaw the tilapia and pat dry. Place on a baking sheet and sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Bake in a 425°F oven for 10-15 minutes, until fish flakes easily with a fork. Place the salad, cucumber, and tomatoes. Top with dressing.
This week, six meals will cost a mere $33.88 for your family! What a great way to put smiles on your family’s faces!!
