Top 5 Apps To Save Money On Groceries

Favado:  This app is one of our personal favorites because it offers all of the best local stores at the touch of our fingertips.  It includes weekly sales, but also has some awesome unadvertised sales listed to help increase your savings.  Check out all the hottest deals at your grocery stores, discount chain stores and dollar stores each week.  Set it to notify you when a new ad is posted and you’ll get a great notice on your phone to remind you to check the app for new deals.

iBotta If you want the savings of coupons on your favorite brand name items, but don’t have the time to clip this is a great way to save.  iBotta offers deals on tons of top name brand items that you can also find coupons for in your weekly papers.  Simply complete little tasks (answering questions or sharing to social media) to increase your cash back on purchases.  Check the individual stores for different specific deals, or look for savings on local restaurants and movies too.  iBotta pays you cash back on your purchases via Paypal or check.  There are also great monthly bonuses when you redeem specific deals, refer a certain amount of people or opt into special offers.  iBotta currently offers rebates on purchases only at their approved stores within the app.  So make sure you are completing the offer at the store shown on the app. (Wide range of stores accepted currently).

Checkout 51:  This hot new app is great because not only is it there for those of us with smartphones, but it is available as a desktop version too.  No phone? No problem!  You can easily scan your receipt in and upload to your account on your computer for savings.  This app much like iBotta offers cash back on your purchases.  It is fast becoming one of the most popular rebate apps out there with tons of variety in the weekly offerings.  If you are looking for ways to save money on groceries, this is a great app to check out. The payout is via check once payout threshold has been met.

Target Cartwheel:  This is one of the easiest apps to use and probably one of our favorites because what’s not to love about going to Target?  Simply load the app to your phone and scroll through the current offers.  Items range from health and beauty, to exercise equipment to food.  While not everything is food related, there are frequently offers in here for BOGO, $ off or % off your purchases.  This one is super easy to show to the cashier at checkout; she scans, and it acts just like any coupon discounting your purchase immediately.

Snap by Groupon:   **updated 10/12- this app that was once only in Canada is now available in the US. It’s an awesome app that has high-value rebate offers. You can read about it HERE- Snap by Groupon new Cashback app!

Admittedly this app is new to me, but the reviews and overall premise look wonderful.  Since it is currently only available in Canada, I hesitated to include it, but occasionally we have some Canadian readers who ask for more offers geared directly for them, and this fits that bill.  This is similar to Checkout 51 and iBotta in that you make purchases and then upload your receipt after you make the purchase.

Because this list of great Cash Back Apps to help you save money on your groceries keeps growing, I’m adding a few more to this list!

Jingit: Another cash back app that has been on the scene for a while. This one is not available at a ton of stores (Kroger, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Kmart, (NO  Meijer as of yet), CVS, Publix and a few more stores). With this one, you can also watch short videos and give feedback on it to earn more cash. Again with Jingit you purchase participating items, scan your receipt for your cash back!!

Savingstar App: Earn cash back on your groceries with our exclusive freebies, healthy offers, and BIG savings on your favorite brands. There’s nothing to clip or print. SavingStar is free and easy to use. Start saving money today.   Plus each Tuesday they give you a rebate offers that’s a great coupon for produce. And on Friday, they give out a FREEBIE. One offer that you can buy and get 100% back! You can read more about the Savingstar App HERE.

BerryCart App:  What I like about BerryCart is that they offer healthy offers. We specifically look for food and beverage products that are either All-Natural, Organic, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO, Vegan, or Vegetarian to name a few. On BerryCart you will NOT see products on BerryCart that have High Fructose Corn Syrup, Artificial Sweeteners, or chemicals that you can clean your floor with. You can read more about how the BerryCart App works HERE.
